The Sea
We have beautiful sandy beaches in our neighbourhood, but this is the closest to home. This is "our" beach, along the Inside Passage with the Mainland across! Walk just 15 min down to this ocean front for beach combing or relaxation and watch Eagles and Herons, or cruise ships going by; Enjoy the ocean view from our large deck; Go kayaking on the ocean or lakes or in the river estuaries in Courtenay or Campbell River; Go fishing in the rivers or in the ocean - alone or with a guide; Book wildlife tours, whale watching tours or grizzly tours; Snorkle with the Salmon; Go wildwater rafting; Go swimming in the ocean or in our warmer lakes; Make a day trip to Yucluelet or Tofino to take in the endless beaches and rugged West Coast of our Island.
The Forest
Our house is surrounded by huge Fir and Maple trees; Indulge in Forest Bathing, taking in the forest with all your senses to improve your mental and physical health; Go hiking on one of the many trails around the house and around Mount Washington or just walk down the trail to the beach; Enjoy our picnic area with hammock, or BBQ and dine under the trees on the deck; Enjoy bird watching, tree hugging, the clean air, our numerous wildlife; Go biking, hunting or mushroom picking; Visit Kitty Coleman Woodland Gardens in walking distance - a place for meditation as well for enjoying an abundance of Rhododendrons in Spring and Summer. The nearby Seal Bay Park with many trails is nearly double the size of Vancouver's Stanley Park.

The Slopes
Mount Washington is a prime destination year round, and only 30 minutes up from us! Summer activities include hiking on top of the mountain and around Paradise Meadows, scenic chairlift rides with views of the Salish Seas and Strathcona Park, Mountain Biking, Trail Running, Bungee Trampoline and Disc & Mini Golf. Winter activities include downhill skiing on a variety of slopes of all degrees of difficulty, Nordic skiing on 55 km of groomed cross-country trails (rated as one of North America's top Nordic Centres), Snow Tubing in the Tube Park, Tobogganing at Raven Lodge, Snowshoeing on 25 km trails through Strathcona Provincial Park, as well as Fat Biking.

You like to stay home in our quiet and peaceful setting? It feels like camping every day in a tasteful place. Forest by the Sea Rentals is a beautiful 2,000 sqft home on a 2.6 acres forest site. It is rural but only 15 min away from the villages of Comox and Courtenay and 35 min from Campbell River, the Salmon Capital.
